ARE YOU A NOMAD?

You don”t have to constantly travel to be a Nomad, Being a nomad is more a mindset. You can be a Nomad if you have an international lifestyle, you are curious about the world and you love to constantly discover unknown topic. You can also be an urban nomad who is all the time exploring new things within a city. The five basis of Nomad mindset are:

NONCONFORMING

Nomads go their own way and they don’t care about societal expectations. They do not to conform to the norm and follow certain ideologies and politics and believe what they believe and nothing else. The thing about nomads is they don’t concern themselves with labels.

SELF-RELIANCE

The basis of being a nomad is not relying on somebody else for your livelihood. There can be a lot of uncertainty in a nomad’s life and this uncertainty can be paralyzing unless you truly believe you can (and will) handle anything that could possibly happen. Self-reliance doesn’t mean having all the answers. It means knowing how to get the answers.

FLEXIBLE

In life and travel nothing if not unpredictable! Being able to roll with the punches makes everything easier. If something doesn’t work out, go another way, try again tomorrow. There’s always another option.

WILLING TO GET OUT OF THEIR COMFORT ZONE

There are plenty of ways to get out of your comfort zone without leaving home. Being in a foreign country where you don’t know your way around and you don’t speak the language can be terrifying or exhilarating, depending on your mind-set.

WHY NOMADS SHOULD HAVE A HOME?

WHY NOMADS SHOULD HAVE A HOME?

I have been living a nomadic life, so far I lived in seven cities and I went through the process of settling down so many times… I fully understand how hard it is to domesticate a new space. On the one hand, you want to have a cosy oasis, where you can rest after long days. On the other hand, you don’t want to invest too much money in it, because you might be on the run again soon

After a tiring day at work, there is no better place than your home to shed your stress and relax. There is no question that, having a comfortable, calming and happy place that suit your needs and lifestyle is indispensable.  Home is as well an expression of our identity. Having a home which reflects, who we are can also help to fight back the cultural identity crisis that almost all expats go through at some point.

As an architect, I strongly believe that regardless of the budget everyone should have access to great design. For this reason, I have tailored flexible services at every budget level. So, go ahead check it out and tell me how Nomads at home can help you.

WHAT HOME MEANS TO EACH OF US?

WHAT HOME MEANS TO EACH OF US?

We are living in times when it has never been easier to connect with other people, apply for a dream job, or travel. This is why so many people have decided to follow their dreams and move abroad. Berlin is the perfect example of the massive flow of international people.

Often during the conversations with expats, I came across the problem of belonging. Many of them are not feel at home in their new rental apartments. I start to wonder. What do you need to feel at home? A bed? A fridge? Wi-fi? What does this phrase actually mean? What does “Home” mean to each of us?

Hence, I have decided to start project # NOMADS AT HOME. I will also take a closer look at what home means to each of us.
